Hamburg is mostly known for it’s active nightlife with St. Pauli and the Reeperbahn area where most young people spend their nights in clubs or bars.
But this area is aslo famous for it’s redlight district, which is not only active at night.
Anyways, during my one-day- trip with my Dad I decided to show him one of Germany’s most famous streets and I obviously had to take some pictures of my dad infront of all these “amusement shops” the Reeperbahn has to offer.
This blogpost will be filled with impressions of yesterdays studio session.
I was able to shoot atThe Stu, a place made for creatives to fulfill their ideas and visions. Since this was the first “professional” shoot I did it was a bit weird at first but with the help of the Stu people ( mostly Christoph, thank u a lot ) it was a good first shoot. And also to not be forgotten a big thank you to Marco , his brother Max and Nasty (for the kind support and Instagram stories).
Since I can’t really decide on how to start this post off right this time I’ll just skip the part where I talk about irrelevant things and stuff . ( 10/10 on actually writing blog posts and maintaining a blog)
All the following photos were taken on an (obviously) B&W film on my canon analog baby. And these pictures were also taken this summer were I used to spend a lot of time with these people and just chill and take pictures of them. And let me tell you that taking pictures of the people you just hang out with is great, there is no such thing as an awkward silence or an awkward atmosphere. ( These people really helped me out a lot with finishing my portfolio and at this point I just want to say thank you )
So wassup? I think it’s been a month since the last post, but I don’t even want to apologize. I obviously had some shit to do. For example writing this damn 20 page paper about psychotherapy and how it affects your brain. But since I’m done with it, the following image I recently found on tumblr describes my mood towards life now pretty much.
Like I already said I was shooting film this whole summer, and I even got two b&w films from my friend Davida (thank you) and did not miss the opportunity trying them (and I never say no when people tryna GIVE me film rolls bc shit is expensive as fuck).
This pretty boy is named Marco and is one of the cutest and kindest people I got to know. Really had fun shooting this beaut.
This was all I had to say. Thank you for reading and supporting.
Have a good evening.
No this is not a face tat, I just drew these tear drops on his face with a normal eyeliner pen.
He actually doesn’t even smoke but he did it for the pictures.
I don’t even know what happened here lol, I guess I fucked up the film.
So I thought of starting an archive series on my blog. Because I never happened to post them but I did’nt want all these hours of scanning pictures go to waste. So why not bring a bit nostalgic vibes on my blog ?
This is Daniela.
One day I was out with my sister and we saw her and I was like “Damn this girl is pretty and a perfect photo model *insert crying emoji* .” ( I was not literally crying but I felt like this emoji was impersonating me perfectly in this very situation).
And my sister was just like ” Go and ask her. ” I have to admit, I get a bit nervous when randomly talking to strangers but I still did it ( and now I feel no shame in doing this).
So I walked up to her, at the underground station, and just casually asked her if she would like me to take her pictures. She said yes.
This way I got to know a lot of interesting people and I am truly hapy for that now.
These pictures were taken on a KodakGold200 film back in August.
Wassup? So I was in Berlin a few weeks ago (yes, again) and took some pics (as usual). This summer was indeed an all analouge summer. And Yes you are safe to assume that I am broke as hell now and that I spent hours scanning pictures. But yea that’s fun so whatever right? But I still don’t get why shooting film is so expensive, even though a lot of people started shooting film again. #makeshootingfilmgreatagain
So who them beautiful and cool people on those photos huh?
“Hi can I take your picture?” “yea.” ( I sadly do not know his name )
Don’t know his name either but he was just sitting there bumping his mixtape and being totaly happy with himself and his life. I aspire to reach this level of satisfaction. I bought his mixtape, because you should always support great artists.
Just an ordinary man peing in the corner, nothing unusual.
And I don’t know his name either. I was too shy to ask him for his name but not shy enough to ask if I could take a pic (?).
I know his name. It’s Joshua. He sure got some sick skating skills. Check out hisinstagram.
Some Mauerpark flicks.
I don’t know their name, but they offered me some of their sunflower seeds.
I’m still alive and back with them new new film shots. So as you can tell this really is my first all analogue post. I finally got to see and scan these pictures I took right before I left to visit my hometown (ofc I took some pics there too). And I still got a lot of analogue pictures from the time I was in Istanbul and Berlin I didn’t scan but since I got plenty of time on my hands right now, I know what I will be doing the next few weeks. Believe me this takes a lot of time but whilst you are scanning and analysing pictures you’ll forget about the time and suddenly it’s 4 AM and you catch yourself waking up from falling asleep infront of the open refrigerator next to your mom asking herself what she might did wrong.
I got to chill with the OG GANG and took some pictures of them casually strolling around in their neighborhood. They are all really cool people to hang out and shoot some good pictures with. Everyone of them is an individual and most of them are friends since like forever becaus they grew up together in this neighborhood. So the location was more meaningful this time I guess. I was really happy to shoot such authentic and cool people that just be themselves and chill in their hood, that create and stay together.
So stay true to your block and support some “real mothefuckin’ OGs”.
