So I thought of starting an archive series on my blog. Because I never happened to post them but I did’nt want all these hours of scanning pictures go to waste. So why not bring a bit nostalgic vibes on my blog ?
This is Daniela.
One day I was out with my sister and we saw her and I was like “Damn this girl is pretty and a perfect photo model *insert crying emoji* .” ( I was not literally crying but I felt like this emoji was impersonating me perfectly in this very situation).
And my sister was just like ” Go and ask her. ” I have to admit, I get a bit nervous when randomly talking to strangers but I still did it ( and now I feel no shame in doing this).
So I walked up to her, at the underground station, and just casually asked her if she would like me to take her pictures. She said yes.
This way I got to know a lot of interesting people and I am truly hapy for that now.
These pictures were taken on a KodakGold200 film back in August.
Wassup? So I was in Berlin a few weeks ago (yes, again) and took some pics (as usual). This summer was indeed an all analouge summer. And Yes you are safe to assume that I am broke as hell now and that I spent hours scanning pictures. But yea that’s fun so whatever right? But I still don’t get why shooting film is so expensive, even though a lot of people started shooting film again. #makeshootingfilmgreatagain
So who them beautiful and cool people on those photos huh?
“Hi can I take your picture?” “yea.” ( I sadly do not know his name )
Don’t know his name either but he was just sitting there bumping his mixtape and being totaly happy with himself and his life. I aspire to reach this level of satisfaction. I bought his mixtape, because you should always support great artists.
Just an ordinary man peing in the corner, nothing unusual.
And I don’t know his name either. I was too shy to ask him for his name but not shy enough to ask if I could take a pic (?).
I know his name. It’s Joshua. He sure got some sick skating skills. Check out hisinstagram.
Some Mauerpark flicks.
I don’t know their name, but they offered me some of their sunflower seeds.
I’m still alive and back with them new new film shots. So as you can tell this really is my first all analogue post. I finally got to see and scan these pictures I took right before I left to visit my hometown (ofc I took some pics there too). And I still got a lot of analogue pictures from the time I was in Istanbul and Berlin I didn’t scan but since I got plenty of time on my hands right now, I know what I will be doing the next few weeks. Believe me this takes a lot of time but whilst you are scanning and analysing pictures you’ll forget about the time and suddenly it’s 4 AM and you catch yourself waking up from falling asleep infront of the open refrigerator next to your mom asking herself what she might did wrong.
I got to chill with the OG GANG and took some pictures of them casually strolling around in their neighborhood. They are all really cool people to hang out and shoot some good pictures with. Everyone of them is an individual and most of them are friends since like forever becaus they grew up together in this neighborhood. So the location was more meaningful this time I guess. I was really happy to shoot such authentic and cool people that just be themselves and chill in their hood, that create and stay together.
So stay true to your block and support some “real mothefuckin’ OGs”.
How is y’all doing? So this time I won’t excuse myself because I had some school stuff to do the last few weeks (I didn’t do it lol). Anyways there is still a lot to come on this blog. There may be just 13-ish people that actually read this blog but I won’t disappoint my true and loyal readers. I do this for y’all.
Actually I don’t even know why I am doing this whole photography thing. I just want to share the stuff I do, with others and everyone that feels like having a look at my work and is interested in the things I be doing, when I’m not sleeping or binge watching any Netflix shows and sometimes (very rare, almost too rare) Animes.
yeah. I got told my blog is very authentic. This was what I was aiming for.
Anyways back to the actual post this was just a quick introduction to this post.
This shoot was a few weeks ago. With a dude called Lukas . He is a really kind and sweet person. Was really fun shooting with him. I have to admit that I did not plan anything for this shoot, but his whole outfit unintentionally matched the location and he was almost blending in with this grey metallic wall because of his grey GOSHA hoodie.
I also shot some pictures on my analogue cam that day. This shit is starting to get really expensive damn I might need a second job. If a lifestyle/fashion/art magazine is tryna hire holla at your girl with the job info lol.
So I hope you enjoyed reading this post.
I’m out b.
And here the #35mm pictures are following, tell me what you think about it ( or don’t ).
So as you may tell I’m back from Istanbul, a few pounds heavier, but I’m here again and who tf actually cares bout weight ( the people weighing your baggage at the airport do lol ).
Anyways I had a great time being there and was shooting film the whole time to capture the real feeling and atmosphere of the city, I just hope they turn out well. So stay tuned for the analogue madness ( I’m still working on the name ).
This skatepark is like one of the best locations I’ve ever came a cross. And I am slowly running out of good locatins so that was also a reason for me to pull up to the same spot again ( for the third time now ). This was a YOUNG PICASSOS x MOUBSEN session. Sadly the trio wasn’t there shooting together, it was just Kc and me. But we still managed to get some nice shots, even though the weather wasn’t playing along as usual.
We planned doing this session with Moubsen, the infamous munich streetstyle blogger, for a long time actually. But everytime you plan on doing something and already have some specific visions in your head it never turns out the way you expected it to be. But this is what it’s all about – the moment. Making the best out of your surroundings while using every bit of the moment you are given. ( I hope this don’t sound too corny lol).
Anyways I hope you enjoyed the post and the now following pictures.
In case Lil Fuego didn’t tell you privately, contrary to her promise of always keeping you up to date when she begged you to subscribe to her then (before the advent of Big Gelato) miserable blog, I’m gonna take over this blog for a week which will probably extend it’s life for another six months and make it resistant to all the lil fuego posts to come. My goal is to make about 3-4 posts. One about music, one about deep shit, one probably about some less deep shit and one about Qatar cause I be’s there now.
So I’m listening to Quasimoto and sitting in Qatar right now and wondering what I tell you youngens about today. Hm….. I just graduated high school (unofficially but fuck my prom/graduation ceremony (they had to put the two together cause they broke (which then again is because they suck at life))) and as you may or may not expect I’m all like FUCK EVERYBODY, NO MORE HOMEWORK ALTHOUGH I NEVER DONE IT ANYWAYS, I’M FREE, LIFE BEGINS NOOOOW. On the other hand though the way you conduct your social life might totally change for people whose social life was widely based on classmates and school in general. Now for me personally whenever I compile one of my dope ass outfits in the morning I won’t be thinking about how I will school these motherf***ers today (double entendre) or how I will impress my ex in math classes (of course not with my miserable math skills) and guess what, I kind of miss that. Like shit, this is some tradition you know ? Back in first grade when you got (or didn’t) them flashing shoes, made you feel like you had a cop car on your feet (cause that’s what cops are, under your feetACAB) like them original lil ones not the new ones for teenagers cause those are just embarrassing, and you’d be like “Imma walk in that class and show ALL of these guys whose got the most apple juice”. But for real for real ? This is all just something that comes down to the way you conduct your personal life and self essentially. So if you just reach the consciousness of self respect and not doing everything for the omnious “others” then the end of school is just a wonderful chance for you to FINALLY start designing the life you want to have for the next chapter “FULL TIME DRUG DEALING IS ON MA MAN”. You can decide wether or not you want to throw yourself into another commitment like university right away or if you wanna go travel the world, start a blog and become better than Lil Fuego (easy) or me (impossible), kickstart some new hobbies or interests, maybe even start making some serious mullah.
As a final word I wanna get serious and say that most of the stuff you want to do and people wanna give you hassle about, most of that stuff is fairly possible and achievable. Even traveling the world without having rich parents. Research it. The most important thing for you to do if you are taking a year off after skool is GET ORGANIZED. Watch seminars on how to get organized, how to manage money, write down your goals and dreams and learn to manage your time, remember education is not academic education but self education. Gettin an A+ don’t make you educated, it makes you hard working but not educated. If you want success in life or if you are trying to achieve something unusual e.g. your twisted dreams you must be willing to risk shit and go against everyone, get hurt, cry and bleed. So this was the first of a few Big Gelato posts, stay posted and enjoy.
